OTBpoddy210With Emily no longer with us, it’s up to the other guys, Jez Sands and Jamie Steiner to talk about this week’s news, trailers and reviews.

We try to find Joaquin Phoenix underneath his beard in his “documentary” I’m Still Here, raise an eyebrow at Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s antics in The Other Guys, sift through the rotting flesh of The Horde, survive a savage beating in The Kid and get thoroughly depressed but impressed by Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in Winter’s Bone.

.11 – Steve Buscemi and Sigourney Weaver join the cast of Rampart. We get confused between Ice-T and Ice Cube. Jez’s gets his LA privileges revoked (probably).
.11 – Russell Crowe will star in a new kung fu movie directed by the Wu Tang Clan’s RZA.
.53 – Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to star in a new Martin Scorsese crime drama, The Irishman. Home Alone – The Sinister Kevin McAllister.
.19 – John Oliver will star in Absolutely Anything directed by Terry Jones.

.39 – Gulliver’s Travels. Jack Black depresses the crap out of us.
.32 – The Fighter – The story of Micky “Irish” Ward. Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams. Biopics featuring people that are still alive are weird.
.50 – The Tourist – Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie appear to have absolutely no chemistry.

.42 – I’m Still Here – Joaquin Phoenix’s “documentary”. A hoax or not a hoax? Do we care? Actors turned musicians. Hugh Laurie fans want to lynch Jamie.
.30 – The Other Guys – Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star in an okay buddy movie. OTB’s worst movies of 2010.
.44 – The Horde. The same predictable zombie crap but in French.
.51 – The Kid. Great performances, crap fight scenes, occasionally over-sentimental.
.37 – Winter’s Bone. Best film of the week easily. Bleak, depressing, but wonderfully real. Superb performances that will probably net Jennifer Lawrence an Oscar nom.
