Sam Rockwell Signs Up To The Sitter
Sam Rockwell has signed up to make Jonah Hill’s life difficult in upcoming comedy The Sitter. The film follows the capers of Hill’s character, a college drop-out who babysits three kids for a few hours and ends up running from all kinds of bad guys after an ill-advised trip to his drug dealer with the kids in tow.
That drug dealer will be played by Sam Rockwell, it’s now been confirmed and we’re hoping he can bring a truly sadistic twist to the role, or this comedy could end up being as dull as recent movies in the same vein (we’re talking to you, Date Night).
And although some big names – including Joaquin Phoenix, allegedly – turned down roles in The Sitter, with Curb Your Enthusiasm’s J. B. Smoove also on board to play a drug dealer, the film might just have the potential to be a better-than-average action-comedy.
David Gordon Green, who previously worked with Rockwell on Snow Angels, will be directing The Sitter. The film is slated for release in July 2011.
