James Cameron To Join Cleopatra?

james_cameron300Na’avi bothering director, James Cameron is being lured into the director’s chair for the new version of Cleopatra by Sony Pictures, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The prospect of telling Angelina Jolie, who will be starring as the Egyptian temptress, what to do should be enough to lure any red-blooded man, but Sony are believed to have acquired a stockpile of Unobtanium to sweeten the deal.

The biopic is rumoured to be a an adaptation of Cleopatra: A Life by biographer Stacy Schiff and screenwriter Brian Helgeland (who penned average-to-good movies Green Zone & Robin Hood) has also been signed up.

Sony are reportedlly ‘exploring the possibility’ of bringing the decorated director on board, though Cameron is already to produce At the Mountains of Madness for Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo Del Toro and a 3D Fantasic Voyage remake.

There has already been some controversy attached to the project as critics blasted the casting of Jolie as the African Queen.
