Spielberg To Direct Bee Gees Movie?
Robin Gibb said that some “very important people” are involved in planning the production of the film. “It will be our life story,” he added proudly. Spielberg also reportedly described the subject as “box office gold”.
The trio of tuneful brothers Robin, Maurice and Barry, formed a group in 1958 and sold over 200 million records worldwide, but after Maurice’s death in 2003 decided it was time to retire. Last year however, they announced they were reforming.
He also added that he would like to use the original recordings because, ‘it’s very hard to emulate them.’ The news will come as a surprise to Spielberg’s fans as the iconic director is signed up for a number of projects over the next year or so, including War Horse and The Adventures of Tin Tin (both dues next December)
