Anne Hathaway And James Franco Linked To Alien
Anne Hathaway and James Franco are the latest in a long line of stars to be linked to the upcoming Alien movie. Franco, who’ll become even hotter property after his turn in Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours hits screens, has expressed an interest in having a role in the prequel and Anne Hathaway has also said she’d love a part.
The film, whose script has just been finalised by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof, is due for a 2011 release and will see Ridley Scott take up the reigns as director. The movie may still be untitled, but it’s generating plenty of cast-related gossip, with names like Natalie Portman, Noomi Rapace and Carey Mulligan being thrown around over the past few weeks.
Original Alien-slayer Sigourney Weaver has spoken of the difficulty in finding a female lead for the franchise: “I think it’s a trick thing because you want to get a good, young actress in there. But she should be very different from Ripley.” Weaver herself is not expected to return for the latest instalment of Alien.
