Cameron210James Cameron has been out on the road publicising the extended edition of Avatar on DVD and Blu-ray but while he’s been hawking his wares, he’s also been talking about the Avatar sequels and some news on Cleopatra.

Cameron revealed that he plans to make two sequels back-to-back, “”Our plan right now is to do two and three as a single large production and release them a year apart. In order to do that, we have to refine our technical processes beyond the end of where we were finishing ‘Avatar’ one a year ago. We need to future-proof ourselves out five or six years to the end of the third film.”

He’s also working on an Avatar novelisation which fills us in with more back story of how man came to Pandora, Sigourney Weaver’s character and presumable how much of Pocahontas and Fern Gully it was necessary to steal in order to make the film.

He also mentioned that Grace could return in the sequels despite her being apparently dead at the end of the first movie “Who said she died? Nobody dies in a science fiction movie. Whether Grace lives or dies depends more on Sigourney’s agent than anything.”

He didn’t have much to say on Cleopatra other than Angelina Jolie rocks his world, “It sounds hot, doesn’t it? I mean, Angelina Jolie and Cleopatra? To me, that’s like a slam dunk.”

What’s more thrilling? Avatar sequels or Jolie with a fringe? Hmm..
