Ghostbusters Set For May 2011 Shoot
In an article published in Production Weekly, it is stated that Sony Pictures are requesting director Ivan Reitman to helm the project. It will be the first Ghostbusters movie since the 1989 sequel but fans may be disappointed to hear that the original cast will be handing over their roles to a new generation though they are expected to star in cameo roles at least.
Whilst Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson have confirmed they will feature in the third instalment, Bill Murray has aired his concerns about coming back. Hopes were raised when the famously sour actor appeared in a Ghostbusters costume for the Spike TV Scream Awards dropping clues that he may well in fact be returning as Peter Venkman.
A first draft was written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg but it is now being altered and rewritten by Aykroyd and Ramis who authored the first two movies in the trilogy.
