Scarlett Faces Competition For The Great Gatsby
We thought Cameron Crowe and Baz Luhrman both have Scarlett Johansson in their sights for their latest film adaptations We Bought a Zoo and The Great Gatsby respectively; however, some fierce competition has emerged for her in both roles.
Amy Adams, Rachel McAdams and Mary Winstead are all waiting for the confirmation to star alongside Matt Damon in Crowe’s adaptation of Benjamin Mee’s memoir We Bought a Zoo. Damon is set to play a widowed father who, as the title suggests, buy’s a zoo. It’s a supposedly charming tale of lost love, coping with death and caring, single-handedly, for his two young children. Who could be better than the voluptuous Johansson to come along and make everything better?
Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively, Abbie Cornish, Natalie Portman and Rebecca Hall are also being considered against Johansson to play the role of the iconic Daisy Buchanan, of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s semi-autobiographical novel, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Macguire. We’re voting Johansson all the way on both of these and putting her very similar looking rivals to one side.
