Smith To Collaborate With Wachowskis?
One of Hollywood’s worst kept secrets of the last decade was Will Smith’s infamous decision to turn down the role of playing Neo in the Wachowski brothers’ The Matrix back in 1999. Instead, Keanu Reeves took the role and gained cult status for his performance in what many consider a classic sci-fi movie.
However, it now appears Smith has another chance to hit the big time (again) should he accept the leading role in the Wachowski brothers’ re-worked version of the Robin Hood legend.
The Hollywood Reporter is claiming the brothers have won over the executives at Warner Bros with their script Hood, an “urban” re-imagining of Nottingham’s most famous resident. They will also direct the project.
Fans of the man who stole from the rich to give to the poor are hoping for a better effort than Russell Crowe’s bizarre performance in Ridley Scott’s failed epic where the Australian star struggled to maintain a consistent accent.
