leoscorsese300Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio seem set to reunite for a fifth time next year for The Wolf of Wall Street, a film based on a book by Jordan Belfort.

The directing icon has worked with the actor in every one of his last four films (Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed and Shutter Island) and once Ridley Scott – who was originally slated to direct this one – moved aside, Vulture reports that Scorsese was keen to be involved in the project.

For those unfamiliar with the book, WOWS follows a drug, alcohol, and sex addicted brokerage firm operator’s rise and fall — from multi-millionaire twentysomething in the go-go eighties to federal-convict thirtysomething banned from the securities business for life in 1994. So some familiar territory for Leo then: talent, demons and lady-trouble.

Vulture goes on to speculate that shooting for the movie may begin in 2012 following Scorsese’s work on Hugh Cabaret (which stars Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Chloe Moretz, Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone) and Silence which is based on the book by Shusaku Endo and starring Benicio del Toro.
