bill-murray2Bill Murray has ‘fessed up that he has not quite got round to reading the script for Ghostbusters 3.

Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Murray said: “Before I was an asset, [but] now I’m a problem. There’s a script somewhere, but I haven’t read it yet.”

The screenplay is written by Office duo Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, which original director Ivan Reitman is keen to get to work on.

Murray described his obligation to Reitman, saying:

“Ivan wants to make it and I owe him. He’s puzzled that I haven’t gotten to this one… I’ll get to it, I feel bad. I got a message and I think people – I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings – it’s not the foremost thing in my mind, so I don’t think about it.”

Come on Murray, pull your finger out…

Adding of the anticipation to resurrect the series, Murray added: “The studio gets excited every ten years or so. What they’d really like to do is recreate the franchise.”

So come on then Murray; pull your finger out…
