Woody Allen To Film In Rome
Woody Allen, the director famous for his dark wit and a handful of Oscar nods, has announced during an interview published in Repubblica newspaper, that he will be shooting his next in Rome this summer.
With the news coinciding with the imminent releases of two of his latest films, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, (released in the UK: 18th March) and Midnight in Paris (opening the 64th Cannes Film festival: May 11th) Allen is continuing to plough through his career with another offering. Does the man not rest?!
Known for making the cities in his films as much of a character as the people that litter his scripts, Allen promises to make this another love-note to one of his favourite destinations.
“I love these sophisticated cities. It’s fantastic to have the possibility to work there, like when I shot ‘Manhattan’ in New York, ‘Match Point’ in London and ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ in Barcelona.”
“Each time, it’s like a declaration of love for certain places. I project onto the big screen my feelings for places which count a lot in my life.”
The film is still at the screenplay stage but as stated, there is plenty of Woody Allen goodness on the horizon to keep you going.
