Fry300Stephen Fry has been talking about his role in the upcoming sequel to Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes alongside Robert Downey Jr.

Fry will play Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes, and has admitted that he is a lifelong Sherlock Holmes fan and is thrilled to be a part of the movie.

Talking to Total Film, Fry said: “I play Mycroft, He’s Holmes’s smarter brother, but he’s so lazy, he never gets the reputation that Sherlock does.”

“It’s a very interesting character and fun to play. Especially as I’ve been a Sherlock Holmes fan since I was a boy.”

The 2009 version, which also starred Jude Law and Rachel McAdams, received mixed reviews although Downey Jr’s portrayal of the iconic detective was well received. The sequel is currently due for release in December.
