2pac300With a film about the life of Tupac Shakur to start filming in the spring, online auditions are being held to find a person who can portray the iconic rapper.

In order to be considered, any Tupac wannabes must upload a 5-minute monologue video and a 60-second clip of them rapping a Tupac song. All the details can be found on the informatively titled InSearchOfTupac.skeetv.com.

Shakur was shot to death in 1996, after attending the fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Now a biopic detailing his life is to be made and will be directed by Training Day’s Antoine Fuqua, and will follow the rapper through his career, his legal trouble and ultimately, his murder.

“We’re looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role,” said producer David Robinson. “At this point, we’re more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality.”

Presumably, a tattoo that says ‘Thug Life’ across the stomach wouldn’t hurt anyone’s chances, either.
