cheerleader-300x210The oldest cheerleader in America’s National Football League is to be the subject of a new film produced by New Line Cinema.

Laura Vikmanis, a cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals, tried out for the squad at the age of 39 after her husband left her for a younger woman. She was initially passed over for a spot, but won a place after improving her fitness for a year. Presumably she did that by running up hills while Mickey Goldmill, riding next to her on a pushbike, shouted “Don’t give up!” with a cigarette in his mouth.

New Line have commissioned writers Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg to pen the script, whose credits include “Gnomeo & Juliet” and “Ratatouille.” OTB doubts we can expect a hard hitting drama about coming back from the brink of destruction then.
