quentin_tarantino_23903-300x210Uma Thurman has let slip in an interview that Tarantino is making a western, to be called A Southern, pushing back plans to make a Kill Bill sequel.

She told Hollywood Outbreak; “I think he [Tarantino] has a script ready to start off a new film, A Southern. I think that’s really exciting. It’s another new story and a fresh piece of material that he is channelling at the moment. So I think Kill Bill lives down the road.”

The movie has been in the works for a while, with Tarantino hinting at plans to make A Southern back in 2009: “I’d like to do a western. But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject everybody is afraid to to deal with.”

“You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the underground railroad, or you could make a movie that would be exciting, do it as an adventure. A spaghetti western that takes place during that time. And I would call it A Southern.”
