Cobain300There have been a fair few people that have tried being both rock stars and actors, but not many have been good at both. Jared Leto is one of the latter. April 5th marked the 17th anniversary of the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, and Leto, who star of films like Requiem For A Dream and Fight Club, and who also fronts 30 Seconds To Mars posted an eerie tribute on the band’s YouTube page.

“I heard today (5th April) was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago,” wrote Leto. “I can’t believe it’s been that long. I’m so grateful for his contribution and inspiration. I’m not sure I’d be doing this if it weren’t for him. He gave us all permission to create, no matter what our skill set, and reminded me that dreams are possible.”

“This made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but though I’d share it now.”

Why is it eerie? Because it’s one of the most impressive Cobain impersonations you will ever see, watch it below:
