Keanu Reeves Will Be A Man Of Tai Chi
Ever since he downloaded Kung Fu into his brain in The Matrix, Keanu Reeves can’t seem to get enough of the stuff. The next project he’s got lined up will be Man Of Tai Chi which he’ll star in but also direct.
“We want to do it in Chinese and English, do it as kind of a co-production with CFG perhaps, which is a Chinese film group, kind of a studio. It’s tricky,” he said to MTV, who further report that while the film will be set in the modern day, it will be an homage to classic Kung Fu flicks with Reeves as the villain.
Reeves also promised that it’ll be chock full of action, “There’s 18 fights. We’ve timed it out. It’s about 40 minutes of fighting. I want to make a good, solid kung fu movie. Good story, good plot — but let’s get some good kung fu going!” Presumably he won’t be moving very very slowly…
He’s still trying to lock down funding for the film but meanwhile he’ll be working on another marital arts themed movie, a version of the classic story of 47 Ronin.
