brandonlee-300Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has signed up to direct the remake of The Crow.

Producer Tom Trucker said: ““Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative filmmaker,” he says, “We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to work with both Pressman and Apaches on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of The Crow.”

The production was left in dissarray after Stephen Norrington, the director of Blade, abruptly left the project.

According to Total Film, the remake will focus on the character of Eric Draven, who comes back to life (with the help of a crow) after he and his fiancée are murdered.

The original 1994 film, based on a comic book, was hit by tragedy when star Brandon Lee (son of Bruce) was killed by a fire-arms mix up on set.
