Bradley Cooper For The Crow?

BCooper210In what we’re starting to think is a late April Fool’s gag, Bradley Cooper is the latest in a long line of actors attached the forthcoming Crow reboot.

The project was dormant for a while after Steven Norrington dropped out of the director’s chair and Mark Wahlberg decided that the pallid make up wasn’t really him but has seen a bit of revival after 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo stepped into the breach.

According to Heat Vision Blog, Cooper is now in talks to play the iconic role of Eric Draven, a rock musician who is murdered along with his fiancée on Halloween before being thrown out of high window. One year later, he comes back from the dead and, guided by the titular crow, wreaks a terrible vengeance on those who wronged him, taking down a notorious street gang in the process.

HVB goes on to report that Cooper and Fresnadillo “shared a vision for the character and the film”. Quite what that means we’re not sure but it sounds like they might have been smoking a little too many happy nettles if they think this is a good idea. Considering the original is a cult classic with a brooding noir-esque quality and it’s impossible to imagine Cooper without a cheeky grin on his face, it seems like a really bad fit on the casting front.

Still, it’s no worse that Mark Wahlberg…
