Di Caprio In Talks For Tarantino’s Django Unchained
Leonardo DiCaprio is considering playing the villainous Calvin Candle, a plantation owner who sexually exploits his female slaves while forcing their male counterparts into barbaric brawls to the death.
If he did sign for the role in Quentin Tarantino’s Western then it would signal a different role from the troubled heroes he has been portraying in recent years. Leo has also signed up to play infamous FBI boss Herbert Hoover in Clint Eastwood’s biopic, so we could be seeing another side to the star in the future.
Django Unchained will tell the story of a freed slave who teams up with with a German bounty hunter (strongly rumoured to be Christoph Waltz) in order to overthrow the cruel Calvin Candle and rescue his enslaved wife.
Tarantino has been looking to place DiCaprio in a vile role for some time, after eyeing him up for the role of ‘Col Hans Landa’ in Inglorious Basterds.
Will smith is rumoured to play the lead role of Django and will no-doubt be more excited about the project if DiCaprio’s does indeed commit to the role of Candle. And with Pulp Fiction star Samual L. Jackson favoured to play Candle’s right hand slave Django Unchained is proving to be a popular one.
