The-Crow210The Crow has been going through more reshuffles than a David Blaine marathon. The Weinstein’s tried to sue Relativity Media for rights violations in April; Steven Norrington was behind the camera with Nick Cave on script duty; even Mark Wahlberg was briefly attached.

The latest development is that the co-writer of Watchmen, Alex Tse, will be working on the script for the reboot. He hasn’t done that much but he’s behind a raft of upcoming adaptations including Ninja Scroll, The Phantom Tollbooth and The Illustrated Man as well as Spike Lee’s TV movie Sucker Free City.

He’ll join a crew which includes Bradley Cooper as Eric Draven and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) in the director’s chair.

The Crow is the story a rock and roll singer who gets murdered along with his fiancee on Halloween and comes back from the dead one year later to wreak revenge. It would have been the breakthrough performance for Brandon Lee had he not been tragically killed on set. It’s had a TV series and three sequels, all of which are utter crud.

Relativity released this statement “The original film is known for its breakthrough visual style as well as its unique production design and cinematography. Fresnadillo and Tse are perfectly suited to bring these beloved characters back to life, and to create a world worthy of this modern classic.”

“Modern classic” eh? We’ll believe it when we see it.
