Matt Dillon is the latest star to sign up for Kristen Wiig’s offbeat comedy Imogene despite the fact that filming’s already underway.

It’s written by Michelle Morgan but Wiig’s been trying to get it off the ground for over two years. No doubt the success of Bridesmaids made that a hell of a lot easier.

The plot seen Wiig play a playwright who fakes a suicide in order to win back her ex-boyfriend only to end up in the care and custody of her gambling-addicted mother (Annette Benning).

Dillon will play her love interest who claims to be a CIA agent but is likely to be either faking or a total nutjob. He’s suddenly become available after dropped out of Freaky Deaky for “personal reasons”.

Imogene will hit our screens next year.
