Another Version Of Scarface In The Works
When I think of Hollywood execs, I automatically imagine them behind desks either stroking white Persian cats or face down in mountain of cocaine. Speaking of mountains of cocaine, they’re planning to “update” Scarface for a new generation.
According to Deadline, Universal is working with producer Martin Bergman, who helped make the 1983 version (the one with Al Pacino – there was an earlier version made in 1932 of which Brian de Palma’s is a remake). Apparently they plan to bring the action to a modern day setting while still retaining the film’s core story.
There are no casting details yet as things are still in the early stages of development so in the mean time, here’s Martin Bergman talking about the censored version of 83′s Scarface.
