Bond 23 To Be Called Skyfall?

The film-buff intelligentsia is working overtime to try and uncover the name of the 23rd Bond film and today there appears to have been a breakthrough. Bond 23 could be called Skyfall.

Warning: This report may well be followed by thirty other name-based variations over the course of the next few weeks.

Nonetheless, the evidence for this latest name prediction is fairly compelling. Unnamed sources are reporting that a number of suspect URL names have been registered by a brand production company working for Sony Pictures, and they all feature one common denominator.

You get the idea but there are nine others which also subscribe to the Skyfall vibe.

If the follow up to Quantum Of Solace does emerge as Skyfall, it will be the first one-word title since Goldeneye (which is fairly dubious as a single word anyway). But it is perhaps a better choice than the rather bizarre array of original Fleming titles left to choose from The Property of a Lady, The Hildebrand Rarity, Risico and 007 In New York.

The last one sounds like it would be more at home in the Crocodile Dundee franchise. But a film featuring Daniel Craig overwhelmed by the bright lights and sexy ladies would make an intriguing departure from the current Bond we all know and love.

The name may still be an enigma but we do now that Daniel Craig will remain as 007, Judi Dench as M, and Sam Mendes will be directing. And it’s out in the UK on October 26 next year.
