Farmville The Movie?
Writers, Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, said: “We are also working on several new and very exciting opportunities. We’re in conversations with Zynga to do something with one of their brands.
“Can’t really say too much on that front yet, but ‘Old MacDonald’ didn’t have a factory, if you get our drift.”
The farming simulation game is currently available to play through Facebook and MSN Games. Production company, Zynga, have not yet confirmed the movie rumours.
Farmville launched on Facebook in June 2009 and became one of Zynga’s first big hits. The game’s a little older now but incredibly, still has over 35 million users (cyber-farmers).
The movie history books show that computer game to screen translations can work for some audiences. Lara Croft (2001, 2003), Resident Evil (2001, 2010) and Hitman (2007) have all experienced (some) box office success.
But they featured hot babes and surly killing machines.
The question is: Can the playful pair can turn a game about tending crops and livestock into an entertaining moo-vie? Or will it be really baaa-d?
