Shyamalan Finally Calls In Script Proof-Readers

It looks like M. Night Shyamalan has finally taken the hint. After receiving poor reviews for his last four films, including the horrific Lady in the Water, The Happening and the unspeakable Last Airbender, the writer/director has sent his latest script to Stephen Gaghan for proofreading.

The project is titled One Thousand A.E. and will feature Will and Jaden Smith as a father and son who crash-land on Earth a thousand years after its been abandoned.

The story was originally penned by Gary Whitta, who also wrote The Book of Eli, and then rewritten by Shyamalan. Gaghan, who wrote Traffic and Syriana (which he also directed) is currently getting the script ready to shoot.

After huge success with The Sixth Sense and Signs, Shymalan’s writing has become his films’ biggest weaknesses but with some input from Gaghan, hopefully One Thousand A.E. will be a long-overdue return to form.
