Tatum To Take Man From U.N.C.L.E Role
It looks like Channing Tatum comes third on the Hollywood totem pole, right after George Clooney and Bradley Cooper.
Tatum is the latest leading man to be offered the starring role in Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The movie is based on a TV series about a pair of international operatives fighting to keep the world safe from evil and with Tatum’s G.I. Joe experience, it will probably be familiar ground.
Tatum and Soderbergh are currently working together on Magic Mike, in which an experienced male stripper (Tatum) teaches a young up-and-comer (Alex Pettyfer) the ropes of the business.
Soderbergh has also worked with U.N.C.L.E. script writer Scott Z Burns before, on Contagion.
No formal deal is in place yet, but it’s likely that Tatum will accept the role that Clooney and Cooper turned down.
