Evil Dead Remake Loses Leading Lady

Lily Collins may be the son of a legendary drummer but she is no blood-spattered fool.

The young actress has pulled out of The Evil Dead remake as devised by original director Sam Raimi and new bod on the scene, Fede Alvarez, due to a “scheduling clash”.

Or so she tells Variety’s Jeff Sneider.

Her appearance as Mia, the blood-stained heroine of Raimi’s grisly cabin-based tale of death…and more death was never officially confirmed. But either way, she’s out!

No confirmation either of what the clash actually is, but Collins is no doubt busy promoting upcoming fairy tale remake, Mirror Mirror and is soon to begin filming on novel adaptation The Mortal Instruments.

The Evil Dead, in the meantime, will need to find someone to play Mia, a young woman who heads out on a trip to a remote cabin with her friends.

But he better get on the case. Alvarez is looking to start shooting in March and is working on a pretty tight schedule with an April 2013 release date pending.

See Collins on screen next in Mirror Mirror, which arrives here on March 16.

“Raimi’s grizzly cabin-based tale of death?” It has to do with a bear? Or do you mean grisly death, as in horrible?
