Dylan’s Blood On The Tracks To Be Made Into A Drama
The producers Rodrigo Teixeira and Fernado Loureiro have now put out the call to find directors “with the unique vision to fulfill on screen what Dylan accomplished in the studio with such well-known songs Tangled Up in Blue, Simple Twist of Fate, and Shelter from the Storm.
“As long time admirers of one of the greatest albums in the history of music, we feel privileged to be making this film,” said Teixeira. “Our goal is to work with a filmmaker who can create a classic drama with characters and an environment that capture the feelings that the album inspires in all fans.”
Hmm, that might actually be possible, Dylan himself has denied that the songs are autobiographical but his son Jakob has said that, “The songs are my parents talking”. Given that the main themes of the album are loneliness and heartbreak, there might be something to work with here.
Blood On The Tracks was Dylan’s 15th studio album, released by Columbia Records in 1975. It’s one of his best received albums, and is certified double Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK. Rolling Stone listed it as the 16th greatest album of all time.
